Eco Sistems gateway (010010027) — Overview
This firmware puts an Eco Sistems watermaker on the MUXEN bus. The unit keeps its own controller and its own logic; the gateway listens to what it says on its CAN bus, republishes it as a MUXEN watermaker, and passes the boat's start / rinse / stop commands back to it.
What the boat sees. One MUXEN watermaker device, updated once a second: whether the unit is in standby, producing or rinsing, the salinity of the water it is making, the production flow, the litres it has produced, and where the flow sits between its minimum and its maximum. Any alarm the unit raises — pressure too high, no flow, salinity too high — is republished as a MUXEN fault, so it appears in the boat's alarm list like any other.
What the boat can do. From a MUXEN screen: start production, start a rinse, stop, and raise or lower the production flow. The gateway turns each of those into the command the Eco Sistems controller expects. It refuses commands the unit cannot honour at that moment — you cannot raise the flow of a watermaker that is not producing — and it never sends two commands closer together than the controller accepts.
When the unit goes quiet. The gateway follows the watermaker, it does not model it. If nothing has been heard from the unit for five seconds it stops publishing altogether and ignores every command until the unit speaks again. On the boat's screens the watermaker simply goes stale, rather than showing a stopped value that is no longer true.
What it is not
- It is not a watermaker controller. Safety, sequencing, flushing and membrane protection stay entirely inside the Eco Sistems unit.
- It does not configure the watermaker. Nothing about the unit's own settings is written by the gateway.
- It carries nothing else off the second bus. Only the Eco Sistems status and command frames are translated.
- It does not report the pump, valve and pressure detail that the MUXEN watermaker device is able to carry — that information is not available from this equipment. See Reference — Eco Sistems gateway.
