The identifiers every box carries, how a device is addressed, and the system LED are the same across the MUXEN range and are described in Common to every box. This page is what is particular to a can-enocean.
Product, software and version
| Product ID | Application | Software ID | Version |
|---|---|---|---|
| 010010033 | SFSP EnOcean | 990050024 | 6.1 |
The version above is that of the source tree at the time of writing; the box itself is always the authority.
Parameters
| Parameter | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
InstanceNum | 255 — clamped to the parking address, 63, on the first start | the instance number of the receiver; nothing is published until this is set to 0…62 |
SfspInter0 … SfspInter62 | 0 | the 63 pairing slots, one radio switch identifier each; 0 means the slot is empty |
Every one of them is read once at start-up. Write with --reboot, or restart the box afterwards, or nothing changes.
For what to put in a pairing slot and how to find a switch's identifier, see the application manual.
What a box publishes
| From | Broadcast id | Bytes | Content |
|---|---|---|---|
| the receiver, function 22 | 1 | 2 | a rolling counter, and the number of switches in the pairing list |
| the receiver, function 22 | 3 | 4 | the identifier of a radio switch that was heard but is not paired |
| an emulated switch, function 23 | 1 | 3 | a rolling counter, the button bits, and the signal strength of the last telegram |
| any device, on request | 0x555 | 8 | boot frame — answered when the bus asks, and sent once at start-up |
| any device, on request | 0xF00 | 8 | the box's UID, 8 bytes burned into the microcontroller and not changeable |
The rolling counters are 4-bit, 0…15, and exist so a listener can tell a quiet device from a lost frame.
The system LED
A can-enocean distinguishes two states, not four: 1 Hz means the program is running, anything else — dark or steady on — means it is not. There are no error blink codes, because the firmware has no watchdog and no fatal handler to drive them. A blinking LED therefore says nothing about the bus or the radio. See The system LED.
Timings
| Receiver heartbeat | every 1 s, once an instance number has been set |
| Emulated switch heartbeat | every 500 ms per paired switch |
| Heartbeat stagger | first heartbeat of slot n is offset by 7 ms × n, so 63 switches do not all transmit on the same tick |
| Radio event | an extra heartbeat is published immediately, on top of the periodic one |
| Held button released | a held state is cleared 5 s after the last telegram from that switch |
| Firmware upload | a transfer that goes quiet for 5 s is abandoned by the box |
| Restart request | the box waits 500 ms by default before restarting, so it can acknowledge first |
What a factory reset does
The reset routine restores every parameter to its default: the 63 pairing slots go back to empty, and the instance number goes back to the parking address or is kept, depending on how the routine is called. There is no undo — take a readconfig --save-as-json first.
