What you need
The gateway
One CanCan running the Scheiber firmware, product ID 010010005 — either generation. A v2 box needs one extra setting, see below.
On the Scheiber side
| A Scheiber SFSP receiver block | the unit that receives the radio from the wireless switches and puts them on the Scheiber CAN bus. Without it the switches are invisible: they talk radio, not CAN |
| Scheiber SFSP wireless switches | the battery-free wall switches themselves, already commissioned into the Scheiber installation |
| Scheiber SFSP auxiliary blocks | optional — the lighting output blocks. Discovered automatically, nothing to declare |
The Scheiber installation must be working before the gateway is installed. The gateway reads a bus; it does not commission a Scheiber system.
Wiring
| Connector | Goes to | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| CAN 1 | the boat's MUXEN bus | 500 kbit/s |
| CAN 2 | the Scheiber CAN bus | 250 kbit/s — fixed by the firmware, it cannot be changed by configuration |
Both are ordinary 120 Ω CAN buses: two wires and a common ground, one 120 Ω termination at each physical end of each bus and nowhere else. The gateway is terminated only if it happens to be at the end of a segment.
The two buses stay electrically separate. Nothing from the MUXEN bus reaches the Scheiber bus except the lighting commands this firmware deliberately translates.
The box's own inputs and outputs
Two relays, two dry-contact inputs, two analog inputs — available here as on every CanCan, and independent of the Scheiber function. They are off by default; see Reference.
