Scheiber gateway (010010005) — Overview
This firmware makes a Scheiber SFSP installation — the wireless, battery-free wall switches and the lighting blocks they drive — part of the MUXEN boat.
Two things happen at once.
The switches become MUXEN switches. A Scheiber SFSP switch sends a radio message when someone presses it; a Scheiber receiver block picks it up and puts it on the Scheiber CAN bus. This gateway listens to that bus and, for every switch you have paired with it, publishes a MUXEN switch device. From the boat's point of view there is a switch on the bus that goes on when a finger presses the wall, and off when it is released — and it can be assigned to anything: a light, a pump, a scene, a page on a screen.
The lighting blocks become MUXEN lights. Scheiber SFSP auxiliary blocks announce themselves on the same bus. The gateway discovers them by itself — nothing to configure — and publishes each one as a MUXEN lighting device of six channels, showing on/off and dimming level. The translation works both ways: a command sent from a MUXEN screen to one of those channels is turned into the Scheiber command that switches or dims the real output.
Everything the boat sees stays in sync with the real installation: a switch pressed on the wall is a switch pressed on the bus, a light dimmed from the Scheiber panel is a light dimmed on the MUXEN screens.
What it is not
- It does not replace the Scheiber system. The Scheiber receiver and the lighting blocks keep working on their own; the gateway watches and translates, it does not take over.
- It does not learn switches by itself. Pairing is deliberate: you press a button, read the identifier the gateway reports, and write it into a slot. See Commissioning.
- It does not carry anything else off the Scheiber bus. Only SFSP switches and SFSP auxiliary blocks are translated.
